Filming: Piano Scene Take 4?

In addition to what Nilufa said - Monday 20th December 2010 was the afternoon we spent our own time after school sorting out the hall and re-shooting the whole piano section, taking the feedback on board from our poll, we had Jessica's hair down and applied silver/grey make up.

This time as a group we decided to use 2 cameras for extra footage and for a more varied range of shots because we noticed we lacked in extra shots when we looked back at our other piano scenes.

Piano Scene - Take Four!

On Monday 20th December, after school, Tamanna, Shamima and I went down to the Great Hall (poor Sabina couldn't join us as she is still ill) - with permission to use the hall for a good amount of time without any disturbances!

We set the piano up with the lit candles, put the white net up which I had ironed that very morning since it was desperately in need of an ironing, and once Jessica arrived we did her hair and make up.

As stated on a previous blog post, we kept the hair down, natural curls and all; we clipped the frizzy parts down and added a kind of coiffe which looked good, with the glam-ish make up - no black eyeshadow at all! So we escaped the whole panda-eye look!

The filming went well, we got a variety of shots, especially the specific shot we wanted of Jessica lighting a match in the dark - the light illuminating her face worked really nicely because we got the exact effect we wanted. Below is a picture of Cheryl Cole with a lit match from her new music video The Flood, this surprisingly is the effect we were going for!

Hair DOWN!

In my last post I stated that after viewing the recent polls, the votes we gathered showed that the majority of viewers preferred 'hair up', but I have made a mistake because after viewing yesterday's poll I've discovered that the hair was voted to be down. So, we will keep the hair down!

Thames Barrier Filming Progress

According to our plans, we went to Thames Barrier Park as a group with our new storyboard on Tuesday 14th December 2010.
However we altered some clothing ideas such as Jessica wearing the pink top and so on... instead Jessica wore her checkered blue and red shirt which is very trendy and in 'style/fashion' therefore as a group we decided to leave Jessica the way she dressed as it fit in well with the idea and was suitable for our video.
In this shoot she wore, blue denims, tan boots, red and blue checkered shirt, brown leather jacket and a bronze necklace.
With the make up which Me and Nilufa did we stuck with the simple and subtle eye make up with clear glossy lips with the bronze and light brown cheeks. All this to give a natural look.
The hair was totally different to the rest of our styles we have done previously, therefore we chose to have her hair the way it was and did small alters such as using bobby pins to clip her fringes.
Despite it being a very cold weather we had some sort of sun which went really well with the riverside footage, which I as a individual member is very happy with.
From what we have filmed today, we are glad to get everything done in such short time. Now we just have to upload and see the actual footage and decide if its worth putting in our music video, which I'm sure it is :)

Thames Barrier Park

One of our key locations is Thames Barrier Park, and we're going there today to get some good scenery shots, and a bit more footgae of Jessica singing. We've been waiting for the right timing to go there, and today we have enough time to go, plus the weather forecast is looking good - http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/8?&showDay=A

We've also decided on the outfit for today's shooting; blue jeans, plain white t-shirt, a knitted pink cardigna and a pink scarf. We're considering the possibility of a jacket in some of the shots. The make up will be similar to the make up in the bedroom scene, so a lot of neutral tones, and pink cheeks.

Below are the storyboards we've drawn out for today's filming:

Nilufa

New Storyboards!

Today we went to town and re did the storyboard for the piano scene which we're hoping to film this Saturday. We have a new range of varied shots, and are hoping to get a graphic match shot within the music video of the candle, and when Jessica strikes a  match.

Also, following the votes, we are going to keep Jessica's hair up in a bun, but there will be some alterations to the make up; we're going to use less black on the eyes since it gives off a slightly panda eyed look, and instead will use more grey and silver.

Magazine Advert 3

Here is another magazine advert I was playing around with on Photoshop, It took me 3 hours doing this as I was playing around with airbrushing the skin, adding fake lashes, changing eye colour from dark brown to blue, softening the lips etc. I made these changes to make the image more strong and appealing.
I then added the background... the reason why I chose this paticular background is because it associates really well with POP! :) I think it really goes well.
With the whole spotlight I took that on board from the previous magazine.

Version 2 Magazine Album Advert

Here is another Magazine Album Advert Nilufa created during the Photoshop project today.
I helped her out with selecting the editting of the background and did a quick play around with it and came to a result we are not too happy about, however it is considered as working progress.
Nilufa's feedback was the background Green was too appealing and was highly attrackting which I agree,  therefore I have decided to work on the advert from home... and later on this week I will show them what I have produced and get their feedback as a group.
Overall I think the image is very 'Pop' and so far I like the flow of the advert just needs some change with colour...etc.

Magazine 2 :)

Showing the advert to the audience, they found the magazine appealing and a 'eye catch' which was a positive note. So therefore I worked with the magazine from home and produced a completed version of the magazine.

Magazine Album Advert

Here is another working progress Magazine Album advert I did for the group, I used the same information as before however just used better edit skills and adding more texture and different font and position of the text.
I consider this as working progress as I will be getting feedbacks from my group on how I can improve this.

Learning to use Photoshop

Wednesday 8th December, We had a Photoshop expert, name Jude who came in for the whole day and taught us how to use photoshop to create our Magazine album advert and design our digipak.
Through out the whole day, we recieved tutorials from Jude and taught us the basics. We began the lesson by messing around with the tools and eventually began thinking and creating our Magazine album advert...
Using primary source image, non secondary source image what so ever.
In our group we did a individual Magazine album advert however with the technical editting myself (Tamanna) helped them out and supported them all the way. We chose our images to work  on. We began to edit the background, cut out images, using the bright and contrast tools... etc.

By the end of the day, we had to rough Magazine album advert.
This is the one Shamima did with the help of Nilufa.... Please remember everything is original (primary source) and not copied from the internet... also bare in mind this is not the final product.
Thanks

magazine adverts

Today we looked at magazine adverts. We looked at five different ones and decided what we wanted to take from it. We also put them into different genre groups. the first one we looked at was called 'warpaint'. From this magazine advert we could see that it fitted into the retro genre. We decided this because of the colours that were used; mainly red with blue and green. These colours were used for the album cover. This meets the generic conventions of a retro CD cover, which would normally have bright colours. In addition on the CD cover we think there is a picture of a skull, this picture is mainly red. Because of all the bright colours you can hardly see the name 'warpaint'. However in the magazine advert there's a picture of all the singers against a red background and all the actresses are wearing black apart from one, who is wearing a bright pink dress; this tells us that she is the main singer because she stands out from the rest. Also we see the main singer sitting on top of a prop. From this magazine advert we would like to use some ideas like having our actress on a wall paper background and have her on a prop for example the piano.

The second one that we looked at was called 'manic street preachers', from this magazine advert we could see a man who is topless holding a camera. This fits in with the generic convention, because the song is called 'postcard from a young man'; he is holding a camera and there's a picture coming out these pictures are mainly used as postcards. the magazine advert is black and white, to show that he is alone and as he is holding the camera it looks like he is taking a picture of us; the audience. the one thing that stands out in this magazine advert is the camera and the topless man. this would attract mostly women, because there is a man topless and the idea of a postcard being sent from a young man would appeal to women. the ideas we hope to take from this are the black and white effect and have the idea to look at the audience, this will show that the actress is interacting with the audience.

The next advert we looked at was called hearts and minds. This magazine advert is very interesting, because the words are designed with parts of trees, feathers and leaves. The colours that are used are purple and silver. From the magazine advert we can tell that it is a solo artist, we can relate to this because  our artist is a solo artist as well. The thing that stood out to us was the wording and one thing that we would like to use is the information layout and the band website.

The fourth one we looked was called the 'glare'. On the magazine it's got pictures of two men with half of their faces, they both are wearing glasses and there is a contrast between the men and the use of colour; one man is black and the other is white and the magazine advert is black and white. The things that stood out to us was the black and white affect and the fact that they are staring at us; it goes with the name also the amount of lighting used on their faces. The one that we would like to use is the good lighting which is used in this magazine advert.

The last magazine advert that we looked at was called 'bingo'. In this advert we can see a long shot of a man chucking a char at another man. The man that he is chucking it at is quite modern, because it's like he has a magnetic field and because of this field he is covered in all different shapes and sizes of balls. This magazine advert is very colourfull, the things that stand out to us are the colourfull balls and when it is in stores. The thing that we would like to use is the pre in formation and when it is in stores.

Sabina

Magazine Advert - Tamanna

In todays lesson, we looked at magazine's adverts containing conventions.
The conventions found in a magazine advert are, Images, Websites and Bonus materials.
During this, I have learnt that majority of magazine advert have some sort of performance image e.g playing the electronic guitar which signifies to the audience what the type of genre it is.
The image found on the front of the CD cover, is either a long shot or an close up shot.
The two CD covers which I looked at Steve Winwood and Suzanne Vega, both the artists have edited their image to black and white which looks appealing as the image stands out more.
Also the shot and angle of the image makes the image appealing to look at as Steve Winwood, on his CD cover he is looking straight at the camera, this on the cover looks as if he has eye contact with the audience.
From the above, the element I will be taking on board for my own magazine advert is think about the  different level of shots and use my editing techniques to make the image attracting.
The font style varies on different style of genre, however most of the time the font size of the album/title are BIG as it attract the audiences attention.
I have recognized that Debut albums only have the artists name in BIG and have no album name. This helps the artist to be recognized by the name as it is a Debut album.
Doing a Debut album for my artist, has made me think about my own magazine advert and how I should have the artist name in BIG.

The advert also contain star ratings, which are made from well known companies such as 'The Guardian' etc.
They also have websites to view about the artist and for the fans or where you can purchase the CD.
A few magazine adverts has an Amazon logo which supports the artist.
The advert also contains the release date of the CD, some CD contains tour dates or live shows information.

Album adverts in magazines

Today, we looked at several cut outs of artists and their album releases in magazines. By observing the pictures, the cover and all the text that accompanied the advert we were able to draw some ideas from the ads that we may possibly choose to use in our magazine advert.

We focused on how the album art on the cover could represent the genre, what the pictures would mean to the audience, how significant the text was and why; because the information is what potential consumers would read, for instance the advert for the Manic Street Preachers had a whole listing of reviews and ratings down the whole left side - this helps give the audience an idea of what they need to know - if the reviews are good they'll consider buying it, if the reviews aren't then there's a bigger chance that they won't purchase it. The album cover below is an example of the ext being formatted around the whole image.

For each of the cut outs we concentrated on what stood out to us the most, so the album art on the cover of the Warpaint's CD stood out to me because I wouldn't have associated that sort of album imagery with a female group, not in a stereotypical way, just that the photo of the four women doesn't really match the album cover with the red and blue/green skull. However, on a closer inspection, the red of the skull is significant to the image of the artists because they are against a red background, also there is a wooden prop in the photo (which is some kind of a seat they're all seated around) that has red graffiti on it. So, there are links that correlate, and from this particular cover we've considered having the actress against coloured wallpaper (just a suggestion) or even having her on a prop, possibly the piano.

Some other suggestions and ideas that we took from these adverts was the possibility of having either a lot or a little amount of text since it is the debut album. Some adverts had a lot of the text listed either on just one side of the ad or under the album image or even on it; but we'll be considering having her image as the main attraction plus her name because we want people to notice the name rather than trying to remember the name of the album. Lastly, a lot of vital information that we will take from what we've seen on these covers are; the release dates of the album, where the CD is available (Amazon), live tour dates, sponsors, reviews and ratings, etc. These are all factors that we must consider and include in the advert.

Nilufa

Magazine adverts - Album (Shamima)

Today we looked at some adverts of albums in magazines. Typically the magazine adverts had an image of some sort, whether it was an image of the artist themself or of an object. Also some of the adverts that we looked at had tour dates and dates of when the CD is coming out. Some had links or their own websites. The most common feature that was evident in the adverts were the reviews and ratings the CD had.

We would be taking some elements of the adverts that we had seen, for example there was this one advert that had the artists name in a font that was bigger than the albums name: Steve Winwood.
In a couple of other adverts we had seen, has had some smaller snapshots of the artist as well as a bigger picture of the artist. This I think would be effective to use in our advert, also because we talked about it before and wanted some element of a collage or snapshots. (This was seen in the advert by Weller and Steve Winwood)
The advert by Suzanne Vega had a picture of her (medium shot) with her guitar, which had a shallow focus blur. We had a similar idea of having our actress with her preferred instrument (piano), but with her having eye contact with the audience. This was also seen in Steve Winwoods advert as he was having eye contact with us.

Recent Changes

We have decided to re-film the Piano scene tomorrow, as there will be issues regarding the Great Hall since there's a potential clash.

Today we made a rough model of our digipak, and have decided that it would be a six-panelled digipak. One main point we all had different views on was whether the album title or the artist's name would be in bigger print on the album cover. Eventually, we decided on the artist's name being in a slightly bigger, more significant font as it is Jessica York's debut album, so the name and the photo is something that would appeal to the audience as it would be something memorable.

We as a group have decided that we need more footage of scenery shots, anything besides Jessica because all the six locations we have used mainly consist of static shots of Jessica. Of course we have used a few varied shots, but after reviewing artists whp play the piano in their music videos, artists like Delta Goodrem and Tori AMos, we have reviewed the difference between the shots used and the shots we have used - and there's a big difference. So, we drew up a list of the shots we're going to do during tomorrow's filming and it consists of a few smooth side to side pans of Jessica at the piano and possibly a long/medium shot of her profile at the piano. This idea we took from the Delta Goodrem video, however it's something we'll need to figure out well because we can't afford to get any of the background in because it's not something we can edit out.

Lastly, I woke up early yesterday morning and set my video camera on top of the dustbin outside my front door and filmed the sun rising, but the sun wasn't visible, only some pink in the sky could be seen. The first five minutes of the shot included trains going past and a few birds; however i was not satisfied with the train being in the shot, so i re-positioned the camera, tilting it further upwards so that I had a half hours worth of footage of the sky, so it's a potential time passing shot. A shot we could fast forward into a few seconds to show the passing of time within the music video, and adding to the change in location.

Thames Barrier Park

We have decided that regardless of the weather, we are going to Thames Barrier Park in Pontoon Docks on Sunday 5th to film Jessica in the park (unless it snows - eep). However the outfit and make up for this scene is still undecided although we have several options. We will make our choice tomorrow on the deciding outfit and complementive hair style and make up, but we have decided that we definitely do not want her to wear a hat and we want the clothes to be slightly more than a casual look.

Re-shooting Piano scene! x3

We have found a mistake in the last piano scene we filmed. This was that the first time that we filmed with Jessica's hair down, the second time round we had it up in a bun. This was initially alright up until we watched back the footage and realised we had no other various types of shots that we did have wehen her hair was down. This meant we would have to use the one with her hair down because this footage was the better version of the piano scene. This is why we are filming parts of that scene again and an additional section of Jessica blowing out a candle, on Thursday 2nd after school. We also had her make-up drastically changed from the first time we filmed which was down tone but wanted the full glamour look, so we darkened her make up and put a lots of on including dark eye shadow and red lipstick. Hopefully this time round it will finally be successful overall and the last time we'd have to film in the Great Hall!

In addition to this, we're hoping the times we'd be filming will be a suitable time for everyone because last time not all of us could participate in the second filming of that scene, further, we were continually disturbed by members of staff and students making their way through the hall, distracting us and our actress causing significant divertions. This was because it made the actress feel uncomfortable and she didn't feel at ease having others gawping while going past. Plus, we had to rush the filming which is why we had such limited footage the second time round and were unable to get the more important shots, for example, close ups of her hands, her blowing the candle out, an over the shoulder shot. So, we have listed this all to ensure that we get all these shots done during Thursday's filming.

Filming

We have decided to film tomorrow in last media lesson but circumstances have it that it might snow. So therefore we have postponed our shoot to next saturday whatever the weather, as British weather will keep on changing regardless of what we want.

Weather Forecast

Here is a outlook on BBC Weather Forecast of London, this is a 5 day forecast which allows us to plan beforehand the day we can go and film at Thames Barrier also the days we are free as a group to go to Thames Barrier.

So far the weather seems as if this is the only week will be getting some sort of warmth and shine.
We have decided to wait for Saturdays weather as its the only day we are free.
Tuesday is a definate no as we do not want this part of the footage to be rainy nor gloomy as it will not fit in with our video.

Late night filming on Thursday 18th

On Thursday 18th, Tamanna and I, on behalf of the whole group, decided to re-film the whole piano scene; because - as previously stated on a blog post - we were majorly unhappy with the footage once uploaded. So, we prepped our actress with the correct make up (smoky eyes, clear complexion and red, glossy lips) and the best hair-do to compliment the make up - hair up in a neat bun.

Once we had done the hair and make up to perfection, we, including the help of our actress - strung the white net up! We had it strung up against a blue curtain so there was nothing that could be seen through the net. The difficulties found during this was that the string was not long enough to attach it to the window instead Tamanna offered to give her headphones to make it work, so we did :) and white taped it on, so it did not come off. Another was being interrupted by the caretaker who had to line up the benches, this meant that we had to allow him to switch on the main assembly hall lights which was a real let down. Despite that we carried on using the spot light to add the shadowy effect it also without the spot light, looking through the camera it did not look pleasant. (picture available below)  Plus, we managed to push the piano against the backdrop so it looked much more efficient than the first time round. Also, we had the fan again so we got a better ripple effect on the curtains, but we couldn't have it billowing because it kept separating the two pieces and exposing the blue curtain behind. Tamanna bought small tea light candles which we placed all over the piano (we were very cautious when lighting them...) adding a more intimate effect.

All in all, we were very pleased with last night's footage and are hoping that once it is uploaded we will be much more satisfied with the outcome and if need be, we'll only need to do this particular scene for a different range of shots.

Sample Footage

Below is a compilation of a few camera shots we tried out today that we may consider using in the music video. The shots we did today were; low angle shot, jump cuts, close up pan, smooth pan upwards from the subject to the sky, and a medium shot of Tamanna singing into the camera and lastly a circular pan around Sabina. We specifically selected these types of shots because we felt that these were the types of shots that would typically be used in a music video of our genre.

We also tried to do a smooth pan following Tamanna while she sang, however this wasn't very successful, the camera movement was shaky, we got more of the background than we did Tamanna and we didn't follow her smoothly. This is obviously something we'll have to practice a lot before we can use a shot like this in the music video.

Rough cut 1

This is a rough sample of our course work. Its only a little bit of what we filmed. We have not uploaded the  audio track with it because we wanted to show how we filmed it and this was that we all (shamima, sabina, tamanna and nilufa) sang with our actress (jessica) to make her feel comfortable. As you can hear we are not the best of singers.

Animatic for Lisa's Song

This is the animatic for Lisa's Song, depicting how we're hoping our music video would be like after the editing. We have portrayed the variety of shots and locations throughout, however during this we realised that the song was too long, which is why we had to cut the last verse out and join the last part of the piano instrumental onto the previous verse. Tamanna used Garage Band to edit the music so that there were no technical glitches that could possibly have been heard if edited on iMovie.

When we watched the animatic back we also realised that there was a lack of footage, so there were certain scenes or images that we had to repeat at a later stage of the song, to fill the gaps in.

Piano Scene Cancelled

Since last week's discussion about re-shooting the Piano scene in the Great Hall, We chose to do it today Friday 12th November 2010 after school, however this had to be cancelled as there was an exam in process which we did not know about.
Instead, as a group we chose to do some filming outside in the rain as we had our actress available today.
As the actress prepared herself with the make up and hair guided by the group, we also worked on the Storyboard so we could do it promptly as the weather was bad.
Before hand, we thought about having a raining scene, today was the best opportunity to take and do some filming. So we went down Jamaica street where there was a small area with grass, leaves and huge trees which was perfect to film, we believe this scene would fit in our music video as it would portray the actress in pain, lonely and emotionally wrecked.

Ancillary task research (CD Front cover)

The type of digipak that we are interested in is the type that the artist such as leona lewis has for her cd cover/ album. This is one of the example from her album that we want to aspire to. in addition  we would like to have our album cover like the artist Amy Macdonald, because we find the cover simple but elegant at the same time. Here are some exaples of Digipaks from the same genre of POP. From looking at the Digipaks we have got some ideas, like we would like to use one big picture of our actress wearing the glamour outfit. Also the type of font that both of the CD covers have is something we have to aspire to. The sort of bold, outstanding font that will grab the audiences attention. The same with the front image. We were thinking of some sort of eye contact that our actress Jessica could be doing. In addition we want to make a book digipak that will contain our CD and lyrics.

Example CD artwork (Digipak)

This is the following example of CD artwork I found during my research, which fits in with the typical conventions that is similar to the one we have used in our music video.
From the CD cover it is obvious the singer has a glamorous look with the flowy dress and heavy make up and hair styling which makes it appealing to the audience.
The camera shot is a establishing shot along side a long shot of the actress on the left side of the framing as it makes it effective and eye catching to the audience as she is alone also the colour contrast between the singer and the sea, the singer stands out more bold because of the colour of her clothing which is alot darker than the sea and sky.

Storyboard - Jamaica St

Well, this is the storyboard for the filming we are going to do in Jamaica St due to change of plans.
The weather in this filming is rainy/dark.
As you can tell from the picture of the storyboard, we are going to use more different range of shots of the actress.

Storyboard

The above images are of the storyboard for the Bow house Scene.
Along side the image drawn, there are breif notes about what shots we would use when filming.
As a whole, the storyboard produced by the individuals input in our group making of the storyboard has helped us a lot, we found it supportive when filming because we did not stand around wasting time nor improvise scenes as it is not professional and will come across as unplanned.

Wise decisions

Tuesday 26th October 2010, as stated on a previous wall post blog, us (the film crew) and the actress made a trip to the house in Bow after shooting a footage in Regents Canal.
Once we had arrived to the location, we were afraid not being able to shoot a footage in front of the house due to because incase the residents were opposed by the idea. Therefore as a team we decided to ask for consent by the residents as we did not want any kind of trouble and went knocking on their doors.

Trying both doors with no luck, as a team we decided to follow our initial idea which was to shoot the scene and get out of the area as soon as possible. :)

ACTION!
Just before filming, the team spotted the litter bags piled outside the house, this was not the look we were going for, for that reason Nilufa (Ms Strong) decided to move the bins away from the frame of shooting.

Recent changes and re-shooting a scene

We have now uploaded all our footage so far onto our laptop, but when doing this we watched it back and realised that we were all unhappy with the piano scene. This is because the hair and make up was all wrong - it was too plain. The piano scene was were we aimed for her to look really glamorous, but the hair and make up just wasn't right, this is because the make up was too low key and the hair wasn't in the right position, we had trouble makng our minds up, whether we wanted the hair up, or down or on a shoulder. So, we have decided how we want the make up to be, and will shoot the piano scene on Friday 12th November.

Further, we also had some problems hanging the curtain, this time we're hoping to put it up as high as we can get it so we get the right flow with it so when it's blowing it ripples backwards and forwards.

Difficulties filming by the canal

On Tuesday 26th October, we all met up and decided to film outside near the canal. we had many difficulties filming near the canal, because everytime we set up a shot, there would be people on their bikes passing by. We had a count at first of 23 bikes but then lost count and interest. From this experience we learnt not to shoot at a time where there will be a lot of people on bicycles.

Thoughts about editing...

As we have delved into filming, we've been considering editing throughout and how we intend to portray our music video and we have already found a video that we've literally fallen in love with and that matches the way we're seeing the video in our heads (below). It's something that we're aspiring for our video to be like - edit wise. We're really considering keeping some shots black and white and others their normal colour, the cuts won't be too fast as the song is quite slow, but we need to find something for the climax of the song when it reaches it's crescendo, so we're still thinking about it. Further, it could be a bit of a risk, and quite ambitious but we're hoping to dabble with it and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out as we hope, then we will reconsider.

Filming outdoors in the rain!

On Tuesday 26th, we the crew, all met up at 9am (that's what you call dedication) and made our way down to Regents Canal to pick the nicest spot we could to do some filming. The reason we wanted a shot by the canal was because we thought this kind of scenery would be ideal for our type of music video and would emphasise on her break up as she was alone, looking out at the water. After we did some shots of Jessica sitting on some stairs and on a bench we moved to the next location - a house in Bow.

The reason we wanted to film at this house is because it fitted in with the genre of our video and we thought that the house was really pretty! And so we wanted to get some shots of Jessica sitting on the steps and leaning on the pillar while singing. The house has been vacant for the last few years but we still thought to double check and be on the safe side and so we knocked on the door a good few times to ask any inhabitants if we could film in front, but there was no one there, so we thought it must be safe to film in front of the house. Can you see why we had to? It's so beautiful.

Locations

Already we have filmed footage in four different locations, plus another scene where Jessica is singing in front of a black backdrop (which is actually a big black scarf). The effect this has had is already more than what we were expecting, it looked really efficient and is a trait we imitated from a Kelly Clarkson video we posted previously.

Second day of filming!

On Monday 25th, the crew met up at Nilufa's house to film the Bedroom Scene - in which Jessica reminisces about her lost relationship by looking back at personal belongings and singing. On this day there weren't many difficulties we faced except the issue with lighting. The lighting in the bedroom was poor so we used the big light which illuminated the whole room making the video and photos really clear. Throughout the filming we took a LOT of photos, some that could be potential album covers. We thought that this would be the best thing to do rather than taking photos after filming in case there are problems with locations, costumes, etc.

On this day we realised how important hair and make up was, it literally had to be inch perfect! It took us over an hour to do Jessica's hair and the make up - which we found difficult because we had to use shades that were just right and didn't make Jessica look over done; in a way it had to look natural but subtle because, has she really got the time to paint her face when she's going through a major break up? Most probably not, but it is a music video, so it had to be just right.

Also, we had to rearrange the bedroom, so we moved one bed out of th way and pllaced the other in the middle, replacing the Harry Potter Shrine with candles and vases to give it a more feminine touch(!)
